Neat handwriting comes from repetition with good models, not from rushing through a notebook. Straight Lines is a 12-page printable pack for toddlers ages 2 to 3.

What is inside

The pack has 5 pre-writing lines and 4 shape tracing. Page titles include “Trace the paths” and “Trace the shapes”. Instructions are written in English with a Filipino line underneath, so kids and parents can use whichever language is easier.

Covers and headers are in full color, but every activity area is black line art on white, so the pages print cleanly in grayscale and do not waste ink.

Skills it builds

Working through the pages practices pre-writing and pencil control. Each page takes about 5 to 10 minutes, which suits the attention span of toddlers ages 2 to 3.

How to use it

  • Use a pencil, not a pen, so mistakes can be erased and redone.
  • Praise the best letter on each row instead of pointing out every wobble.
  • Check the starting dot on each row; correct stroke order matters more than speed.
  • Sit beside your child and do the first page together.

Ideas beyond the page

Practise the same letters in the air, on sand, or with a finger on a table before using the page. Write one word a day on a sticky note and hide it for your child to find and read.

Who it is for

Toddlers learn through short bursts of play, so the pages use big shapes, thick outlines and almost no reading. At 12 pages, this is a short mini pack, good for a week of practice or a single weekend. Parents can use it for homeschool or after-school practice, and teachers can print it for one classroom.

Printing tips

The file is an A4 PDF. Choose “Fit to page” and print one-sided; black-and-white is fine for the activity pages. At a computer shop, bring the PDF on your phone or a USB drive. You can print the whole pack or only the pages you need, as many times as you like for your own children or your own classroom.
