Cutting, folding and gluing build fine-motor skills and the patience to follow steps in order. Origami Guides is a 26-page printable pack for kids in Grades 1 to 3.

What is inside

The pack has 23 origami. Page titles include “Origami: Paper boat”, “Origami: Paper hat”, “Origami: Dog face” and “Origami: Paper cup”. Instructions are written in English with a Filipino line underneath, so kids and parents can use whichever language is easier.

Covers and headers are in full color, but every activity area is black line art on white, so the pages print cleanly in grayscale and do not waste ink.

Skills it builds

Working through the pages practices folding and following steps. Each page takes about 15 to 20 minutes, which suits the attention span of kids in Grades 1 to 3.

How to use it

  • Print on thicker paper (cartolina or 120 gsm) for masks, puppets and boxes.
  • Use child-safe scissors and help with the small cuts.
  • Follow the legend: dashed lines are for cutting, solid lines for folding.
  • Let your child read the instructions first, then check the first answer together.

Ideas beyond the page

Make extra copies for cousins and craft together during the holidays. Use the crafts as party favors or classroom decorations.

Who it is for

Early graders can follow written instructions and enjoy finishing a page on their own, with an adult nearby to check. At 26 pages, this is an activity pack with enough variety for a few weeks of regular practice. Parents can use it for homeschool or after-school practice, and teachers can print it for one classroom.

Printing tips

The file is an A4 PDF. Choose “Fit to page” and print one-sided; black-and-white is fine for the activity pages. Use thicker paper (120 gsm or cartolina) for anything that will be cut, folded or displayed. At a computer shop, bring the PDF on your phone or a USB drive. You can print the whole pack or only the pages you need, as many times as you like for your own children or your own classroom.
