Retirement: honoree intro, career timeline, contributions stats, gallery, messages from colleagues (quotes), what's next, program, thank you.. This guide walks through what a good retirement tribute slideshow presentation covers, slide by slide, and how to prepare it quickly with an editable PowerPoint template.

Who this is for

Family milestones, from debuts and weddings to tributes and memorials, deserve a slideshow that does them justice. A ready design lets you focus on collecting photos, names and messages instead of arranging boxes on a slide the night before.

What to include, slide by slide

  1. A Day to Say Thank You
  2. Mrs. Carmen Reyes
  3. Thirty-Eight Years in Six Chapters
  4. A Career by the Numbers
  5. Moments from a Long Career
  6. From a Colleague
  7. From a Former Student
  8. The Next Chapter for Ma'am Carmen
  9. No More Bells
  10. Program of the Tribute

How to edit it in five steps

  1. Open the .pptx in Microsoft PowerPoint and choose the colour version you like.
  2. Click any sample text and type over it with your own content.
  3. Right-click each picture, choose Change Picture and insert your own photo.
  4. Right-click a chart and choose Edit Data to type your numbers; tables edit like any table.
  5. Read the speaker notes for slide-specific tips, then present with F5.

Tips before you present

  • Collect photos early and replace the placeholders with right-click > Change Picture.
  • Ask a relative to check the spelling of every name before the event.
  • Test the slideshow on the venue's projector or TV and bring a USB copy.
  • Use the program slide as the host's guide; keep it updated if the schedule changes.
  • Keep messages short so the slideshow moves with the music.
