The honest problem with creator income in the Philippines
If you're a Filipino creator running affiliate links and sponsorships in 2026, your income lives in at least four places: the Shopee Affiliate dashboard, the Lazada Affiliate dashboard, the TikTok Shop creator backend, and your GCash/bank account for direct brand deals. Each one shows a different number — gross vs net, before vs after platform fee, in a different cut-off window.
So when someone asks "how much did you make this month?", the honest answer is: I don't really know. You'd have to log into four dashboards, normalise the dates, subtract the platform fees, add the EWT that was withheld by sponsors, and reconcile against what actually hit your account.
Most creators don't. They glance at the biggest platform number, vibe-check the rest, and hope. Then April rolls around and the BIR wants a real number for 1701A — and the panic begins.
What "earnings" actually means for a PH creator
Five buckets, and they're taxed and paid differently:
The point isn't to memorise these. The point is: your tracker has to handle all five, or you'll just pretend the smaller buckets don't exist.
Step 1: Stop tracking earnings in your Notes app
If you're currently doing any of the following, you have a real problem:
You don't need a Notion database with seventeen views. You need one file, opened once a week, that handles platform fees, EWT, and conversion rate without you doing the math.
Step 2: Know what a "good" affiliate conversion rate looks like
If you're going to track clicks + conversions, you need a benchmark to compare against:
Above the band = you have a hit; double down on that product/format. Below the band = either the audience isn't right for the product, or the call-to-action is buried. Track this per campaign for 30 days and the pattern is obvious.
Step 3: Build a sponsorship pipeline (Lead → Paid)
Most Filipino creators lose more money to stalled sponsorships than to bad ones. A deal that sits in "Delivered, waiting for payment" for 90 days is the same as no deal — except you already spent the production cost.
A working pipeline has clear stages:
The two stages that quietly bleed cash are Delivered and Invoiced. If you have more than ₱20,000 sitting in either for over 30 days, you have a follow-up to do today.
Step 4: Reconcile to tax once a year
At year-end you need three numbers ready for BIR 1701A:
If you've been logging payouts all year, this takes 30 seconds. If you haven't, it takes a weekend of digging through Gmail and dashboards — and you'll still get it slightly wrong.
The shortcut: use the tracker we built
You can build this in a blank spreadsheet, but you'll spend two evenings wiring up SUMIFS, get the EWT logic wrong somewhere, and forget to filter by tax year.
So we built the workbook we use ourselves. 9 sheets, all formulas connected, no add-ins, works offline in Excel or Google Sheets.
One-time payment: ₱299. No subscription. No login. Yours forever.
If you also need quarterly 1701Q + 1701A computation, pair this with the Freelancer BIR Tax Tracker — the Tax Summary numbers paste straight into its Income sheet.
Frequently asked
Will this work for both Shopee Affiliate and TikTok Shop earnings?
Yes. Every platform you earn on — TikTok Shop, TikTok Creator Rewards, YouTube AdSense, YouTube sponsorships, Shopee, Lazada, Instagram, Brand Direct — has its own dropdown option. The workbook aggregates all of them on the Dashboard and Tax Summary.
Do I have to log every single sale individually?
No. Log payouts the way your platform pays you. For Shopee/Lazada that's usually a monthly summary; for sponsorships it's per deal; for TikTok Shop it's per payout window. One row per payout is enough.
Does it track BIR taxes too?
It produces a tax-ready year summary: total gross, EWT withheld (2307 credits), and net received. You can paste those into BIR 1701A directly, or into our Freelancer BIR Tax Tracker if you want full 1701Q quarterly computations.
Can I use this in Google Sheets if I don't have Excel?
Yes. Open the .xlsx in Google Sheets — all SUMIFS, COUNTIFS, INDEX/MATCH formulas, dropdowns, and named ranges work. No add-ins required.
