Cutting, folding and gluing build fine-motor skills and the patience to follow steps in order. Animal Paper Masks is a 25-page printable pack for preschoolers ages 4 to 5.

What is inside

The pack has 20 masks, 1 stickers and 1 crown. Page titles include “Tarsier mask”, “Pig mask”, “Goat mask”, “Panda mask” and “Hippopotamus mask”. Instructions are written in English with a Filipino line underneath, so kids and parents can use whichever language is easier.

Covers and headers are in full color, but every activity area is black line art on white, so the pages print cleanly in grayscale and do not waste ink.

Skills it builds

Working through the pages practices cutting and pretend play. Each page takes about 10 to 15 minutes, which suits the attention span of preschoolers ages 4 to 5.

How to use it

  • Color before cutting; it is much easier.
  • Save the finished crafts for a weekend puppet show or display.
  • Follow the legend: dashed lines are for cutting, solid lines for folding.
  • Read the instruction line aloud; most pages need only one short sentence.

Ideas beyond the page

Make extra copies for cousins and craft together during the holidays. Put on a small show with the finished masks or puppets.

Who it is for

Preschoolers are ready for simple instructions and lots of pictures, which is how every page is built. At 25 pages, this is an activity pack with enough variety for a few weeks of regular practice. Parents can use it for homeschool or after-school practice, and teachers can print it for one classroom.

Printing tips

The file is an A4 PDF. Choose “Fit to page” and print one-sided; black-and-white is fine for the activity pages. Use thicker paper (120 gsm or cartolina) for anything that will be cut, folded or displayed. At a computer shop, bring the PDF on your phone or a USB drive. You can print the whole pack or only the pages you need, as many times as you like for your own children or your own classroom.
