Fluency with basic facts frees a child's attention for problem solving later. Addition Facts to 20 is a 62-page printable pack for kids in Grades 1 to 3.

What is inside

The pack has 35 drills, 3 number bonds, 2 picture math, 2 word problems and 2 mental math. Page titles include “Addition practice”, “Number bonds of 10”, “Word problems”, “Mental math sprint” and “Philippine money”. An answer key at the back makes checking quick. Instructions are written in English with a Filipino line underneath, so kids and parents can use whichever language is easier.

Covers and headers are in full color, but every activity area is black line art on white, so the pages print cleanly in grayscale and do not waste ink.

Skills it builds

Working through the pages practices addition facts and fluency. Each page takes about 15 to 20 minutes, which suits the attention span of kids in Grades 1 to 3.

How to use it

  • When a page feels easy, time it and try to beat your own score next week rather than anyone else's.
  • Check work with the answer key together and redo only the misses.
  • Use real objects, like coins or bottle caps, whenever a problem is hard to picture.
  • Let your child read the instructions first, then check the first answer together.

Ideas beyond the page

Count steps, plates or jeepneys on the way to school. Let your child pay for a small item at the sari-sari store and count the change.

Who it is for

Early graders can follow written instructions and enjoy finishing a page on their own, with an adult nearby to check. At 62 pages, this is a full workbook that can carry a whole term of practice. Parents can use it for homeschool or after-school practice, and teachers can print it for one classroom.

Printing tips

The file is an A4 PDF. Choose “Fit to page” and print one-sided; black-and-white is fine for the activity pages. At a computer shop, bring the PDF on your phone or a USB drive. You can print the whole pack or only the pages you need, as many times as you like for your own children or your own classroom.
